North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has used a Russian Aurus Senat limousine gifted by Putin for the first time, signaling the growing friendship between the two countries.

The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, for the first time took a ride in a Russian limousine, which was presented to him by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, writes UNN with reference to Al Jazeera.

Since Kim Jong Un’s meeting with Putin last September, their first summit in four years, relations between Pyongyang and Moscow are said to have strengthened. Putin invited Kim to test drive the Aurus Senat limousine, which arrived in Pyongyang in February.

On Friday, Kim used the car for the first time, which was confirmed by his sister and well-known government official Kim Yo Jong, the publication writes.

Kim Yo Jong, a representative of the KCNA (Korean Central News Agency), said that this trip was “a clear indication of the friendship between the DPRK and Russia, which is currently developing at a new, high level.”

Kim Jong-un owns a collection of luxury cars from abroad that were illegally imported into the country. During his visit to Russia, he moved between meeting places in a Maybach limousine, which he brought with him on his special train.

As reported, North Korean military factories are operating at full capacity, supplying artillery shells to Russia in exchange for food and raw materials.
